What is motion sickness?

Whenever we are traveling or we are in a motion we experience nausea, vomiting and sweating and the condition is called motion sickness.

When our body is moving or is in any type of movement, our brain gets information from three different places: what is the adjective position of our head. As we said, the brain gets signals from mainly three places, first is eyes then joints and postalia. This signal tells us the vertical and horizontal position of the head. When anyone apart from these three is impaired, our brain fails to pursue the movement and it causes motion sickness. 

Who has high chances of motion sickness?

  • Females are the common patients of motion sickness.
  • Pregnant ladies face these problem more
  • Anyone having hormonal changes
  • Childrens around age of 9 years
  • Anyone suffering from anxiety


  • Nausea 
  • Vomiting 
  • Sweating
  • Accumulation of extra saliva


  • If traveling in cars prefer to sit on front seat only
  • Try look keep your vision in front through the windshields 
  • Avoid reading and using gadgets while traveling
  • Keep yourself busy in watching things which are outside 
  • If you lie down motion sickness can be decreased 
  • You can use over the counter medications for motion sickness
  • Put a piece of ginger in mouth to avoid motion sickness
  • Keep on inhaling smell of lemon
