What is a longevity diet?

Longevity diet was introduced  by a scientist from California named Valter longo. Longo says if we follow the longevity diet we can increase our life around 10- 20 years more. Longo says this diet not only stretches our life but it provides a healthy life and prevents us from various health diseases.

In this diet Longo explains the effects of fasting and nutritions on our genes. This diet was made for the adults only but youngsters can also follow it, only if following in proper ways. This is the only diet heaving no side effects/ zero side effects. You’ll only get dozens of benefits from this diet.

How to follow a longevity diet?

As wes said above, a longevity diet includes fasting and eating, so in this diet you need to stay in fasting mode for 12 hours of the day and in eating mode for another 12 hours of the day. Now while you’re in eating mode it doesn’t mean you can eat anything and anyhow, it should be in a healthy manner. Take healthy food items in your diet and always eat your meals 3-4 hours before you go to sleep. You cannot go to bed immediately after having your meals. 

Another formula of a longevity diet is done by following the rule of 5:2. Ratio of 5:2 refers to the normal eating for 5 days and for rest 2 days of week you must take food items containing low calories (700-800 calories).

Next factor to note while starting a longevity diet is your body weight. If your body weight is more than normal then you are advised to take 2 main meals a day and 2 small amounts of snacking containing no sugar and less amounts of fat. Similarly if your body weight is maintained, you can take 3 main meals a day and 1-2 snacks containing no sugar and less fat. Snacks you take should be less in fat, zero amount of added sugar, no maida and fried foods.
